Hi, there! These are the assignments that my Visual Communications (CO221) did for Weeks 1 through 2! Enjoy these!!

Reading 1: In Visual Communications class, I am very excited about learning various techniques on communicating with others. Such as (based on the two visualnews.com blog posts), the layout of Snapchat, Tumblr, and Instagram. The first article (http://www.visualnews.com/2015/09/18/this-is-how-instagram-users-show-the-best-side-of-their-life-even-if-its-a-lie/) explains how cropping an image can have an effect on the real image or story. People give them the good parts (especially when the filters and editing come in handy!). I also want to learn more about how color has an effect on social media websites (this was the topic for my Intro to Communication final group project last semester)!!

Classwork 1: Invisible triangle and Spiral drawing

These both were created using Adobe Illustrator (AI). I had fun creating the Spiral drawing, especially since it was a challenge for me – I wanted the effect to be the same as the original or similar to Professor La Pointe’s example :–) I am quite surprised at my result, because I didn’t know I was good at these types of things. Honestly, half of the time, I just went with the flow.

Sharing 1:

For class, I shared one of my favorite you tubers. Her name is Casey Ho, and well known for her youtube name, Blogilates. She is a fitness youtuber and owns a website under the same name. I chose to share this because I really, really, really adore the pastel colors she uses on her blog (I am a sucker for pastel colors because they are so aesthetically pleasing to the eye!!). Her use of these colors really want me to be more fit and buy more cute fitness wear.

Visit her blog here and get motivated to work out: http://www.blogilates.com
